Attimore Regulars, Sharron and Gordon tie the knot. 9th June 2001
Geordie (Keith Melville) was the best man. Sharron, wearing a stunning dress arrived in an open topped car with all the ribbons and trimmings. Gordon, put out his 7th fag and went inside with Geordie. Prompt, at 11:30 the service started. Dean, Sharron's son, gave her away and after their vows, a very nervous couple emerged as Mr. and Mrs. Reekie. Good luck you guys.

Some excitement at the Atti' on Monday 20th August when the cleaners came running and screaming out of the games room crying bats! A small Pipistrelle bat had found its way into the pub and gone to sleep behind a curtain only to be aroused by the cleaners. With the bat flapping around the Pub, Russell a previous assistant manager phoned the Attimore Vets for help. "Ah! you need the Bat Man" they said. Russell phoned the Herts. Bat Group (I didn't know we had one of those) and asked for "The Bat Man". "Who's speaking?" came the reply. "Robin" said Russell. "Oh! like I've never heard that one before". Finally, it was arranged that one of the local licensed Bat workers, Reg Chapman, would come and collect the bat. Finally, later in the evening Reg. came and rescued the bat. It was quite stressed by this time but when released it appeared to be no worse for its long stay at the Atti'. Reg says if you find a bat indoors, open some windows and leave it alone and hopefully it will fly out. If not you can phone the Herts. bat help line at 01992 581442. They also have a web site at www.concat.demon.co.uk/batsite/
