Tewin parish church records confirm Joseph William Bruce was baptised 10 Feb 1860

and his parents were George (railway gate house keeper) and Caroline Sarah.

This Joseph would have been at least 8 months so census corrected.

(I probably mistook an 8 for a 5).

Sarah Campkin born 18th April 1834 and died 1880. Was not married as stated in Census so was the 'Head' of the family NOT the wife.

Her mother, Jane Campkin, born 1807, died 1870.

Her sister, Jane Ansell (née Campkin) born 1st Sept 1847
Name 'Ansell' corrected from 'Ausell' from evidence supplied by Jeanne Lynwood.

Baptism records of the children prove that the wife's name was Emma Jane.

Baptism records show: James Cowlen Pigg (Bap.29/10/1884), Evelyn Sarah Pigg (Bap. 6/1/1881), Alice Maud Pigg (Bap. 3/3/1880). This proves the family were in residence from March 1880 to at least October 1884 because the address given was the Attimore..

James Pigg lived at the Attimore from 1880 to 1884. His parents were William Pigg and Sarah Wolfenden. The William Pigg in the 1891 Census (see below) was James's Brother. This information from Karen Williams who is related to James Pigg.
